What Are Childhood Attachment Wounds?

Attachment wounds form when our earliest caregivers aren’t able to consistently meet our emotional needs. Maybe love felt conditional, or safety was unpredictable. When we don’t feel seen, heard, or valued as children, it creates emotional “scars” that can influence how we relate to others later in life.

These wounds can create deep fears around rejection, abandonment, and being unlovable, fears that show up as protective behaviors in adulthood.
